Sponsorship Wanted!
As we will be carrying most of our trekking and climbing gear for 22 long days, we need to keep everything LIGHTWEIGHT. This does cause a problem as the lightweight varieties tend to be more expensive. It is difficult to compromise on Strenuous Plus trekking route such as the Island Peak
Expedition as in certain circumstances top quality equipment could mean the world for us.
In order to make our journey relatively safe and enjoyable we would like to invite Outdoor Companies and Retailers to sign up to the challenge and support our quest through a SPONSORSHIP. We are hopeful that we can inspire you to help our efforts by providing us with some of the most essential gear.
Please find a list of the most essential gear below
Challenge essentials: Trekking and climbing gear
Trekking or running shoes for cutting through the valleys and a good pair of hiking boots for higher terrain. The suitable boots are made of leather or Cordura and should have ankle support and durable sole, preferably Vibram for better grip in muddy or icy / snowy conditions
Gore-Tex gaiters to seal the trousers and boots off the snow
Mid-layers including a polar fleece jumper, a pair of lightweight climbing pants and a pair of windproof / waterproof over pants. Trekking pants should be loose fitting and quick drying if possible for instance polyamide or microfiber
Hard shell windproof / waterproof double layer jacket for trekking
Trekking daypack with minimum of 35-45 litre capacity, with comfortable harness so that a majority of the weight rests on the hips rather than the shoulders
The little bits and bobs
Gloves, sun hat and a pair of tent mules
Shades (100% UV filtering)
And finally, a headlamp with spare batteries
If you can provide us with any of the above gear, please contact us on [email protected] or via the form below.
Thank you for your support!
